Open Box & Product Condition
We tell you the condition. Always.
Every single item on this site has its condition stated on the product page, before you buy. We don’t bury it, we don’t soften it, and we don’t use vague words like “like new” to mean “used.”
There are two conditions:
New
Exactly what it sounds like. Factory sealed, unopened, complete, with all original packaging and accessories.
Manufacturer warranty applies as normal — you’d register it with the manufacturer (HP, Epson, Fellowes, First Alert, and so on) exactly as you would if you’d bought it at a big-box store.
Open Box
The box was opened. The product wasn’t used up.
Open Box items come to us from retail overstock and liquidation — customer returns, shelf pulls, discontinued packaging, cancelled orders. Someone opened the box. That’s it. That’s why it costs less.
What we do before we list an Open Box item:
- We inspect it
- We confirm it’s complete — all parts, accessories and cables accounted for
- We photograph the actual item you’ll receive, not a stock photo
- We state any cosmetic flaw on the product page
What “Open Box” does NOT mean:
- It does not mean broken
- It does not mean used up, worn out, or missing parts
- It does not mean we’re hiding something
If an item has a scuff, a dent, or a missing manual — we say so on the product page. If the product page doesn’t mention a flaw, there isn’t one that we found.
Every photo is the real item
We photograph the actual unit you will receive. Not a manufacturer stock image. Not a similar one. That one.
If a photo shows a scratch, your item has that scratch. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.
